Patrick Grant, of E. Tautz, contacted me to tell me that much of the E.Tautz collection is made in the UK and he drew my attention to this video in which he takes a road trip around some of their UK manufacturers, seeing some great craftsmanship and products.
Here it is - enjoy! These and the others in the series can be found on YouTube. Beautifully-made, I found watching them quite moving at times, seeing the skills, honesty and modesty that's displayed by the craftsmen and women involved. They deserve a wide audience.
I think you may have posted the wrong video here, David! This is the promo video by Sir Plus, not E Tauzt :-)
ReplyDeleteIt works for me as E. Tautz - anyone else having problems?

Dear Grey Fox,
ReplyDeleteI have just watched all 8 videos of Tautz and have to say that they are a real wealth of knowledge and a blissful joy to follow. Thank you for posting these and showing some excellent sources for fine materials and fabrics. It is a really good way to show what is out there: having checked some websites, I was really pleased that it is actually possible to buy for example some fabric for Fox for just a pair of trousers. I am about to head of to consult with my tailor about what they wd need and suggest for some.
