This has been a significant step in my search for style and I've enjoyed every minute of it. I've loved being a client of Susannah Hall's and have asked her to make me a blazer - that will be another story.
I'm grateful to Susannah Hall, Tailors, for making the suit, to Hunter's Tweed from whom I obtained the tweed and to Heather Amos, photographer, for taking these shots at Best of Britannia, .

Suit look great on you but a 3 piece suit (especially bespoke) would anyway on a thin and tall man like yourself :) I wonder how it would look on a smaller, bulkier version of a man?
ReplyDeleteExtremely nice!

Greyfox,
ReplyDeleteNow, you're all ready for next year's Goodwood Revival. I'm not certain that car is though.

David
Looks top-notch. How long is the jacket, relative to your, um, posterior, please?
ReplyDeleteIt is a long-ish jacket as I wanted a fairly traditional cut rather than a very modern short length. This is a suit to last, rather than one reflecting probably ephemeral fashionable styles - short jackets will not stay stylish for ever.

Grey Fox, it was great to meet you at BOB. The suit looks even better worn in real life than in the pictures. I think Susannah may have persuaded me to visit in the near future for more than a shirt.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your thought provoking posts
All the best
David
I would kill for just such a suit - long jacket and all!
ReplyDeleteThank you L'age moyen - I'm sure Susannah Hall could make you one without your having to kill for it ;)
ReplyDelete!

Hi there Grey Fox,
ReplyDeleteNice suit. Being 3 pieces, you can break it up and use it for soo many looks. The blazer can be put with jeans, the vest and pants with a, let's say, navy blue blazer, the pants would look great with a turtle neck sweater, and the vest could be worn by itself with other things from your closet.
The main thing with buying things that are sets is to have them ALL dry cleaned at the same time ALWAYS, so they fade at the same exact rate over time.
Your next suit, Grey Fox, should be something in a Silver Gray ;-}
Thanks Fred - yes, I hadn't really thought about that, so, thanks, I will wear them in different ways.
ReplyDeleteI agree about next suit - maybe grey herringbone?
I hope you are well.
GF
A lovely suit - I might have added notched lapels to the waistcoat.
