Are these the most stylish men in the World? The touching story of The Sapeurs of Brazzaville, Congo, a short documentary by Guinness. And click here see my post of a few days ago.
Les sapeurs...most young Congolese people leaving in Paris have still this "goal" of becoming someone through their appearances. I have met and known many of them...they have "below the average" paid jobs - often under-considered by their employers. Most of them love France (remember they were the first enlisted in the 14-18 war conflict and sent first line to fight) whilst French people consider them as "parasites". Their "escapism" is though fashion, brands and looks. Ironically I doubt any of French or Congolese Sapeurs are drinkers of Guinness!
