As Europe is gripped in a late winter chill thoughts turn to gloves. Some years ago I owned a pair of pigskin gloves which I loved; I wore them everywhere when it was chilly and they were warm, flexible and comfortable. Unfortunately they disappeared when my overcoat was stolen. Only now have I replaced them. The secret is that I paid £5 for an old pair on eBay - hand-stitched and soft-as-butter leather. I have a pair of black gloves for more formal wear and the tan pigskin gloves have outings with my tweed jackets on cold days.
Here are similar gloves worn by men snapped by the Sartorialist, note the use of the breast pocket for storage!
