Shorts.......and a jacket?

Tuesday, 3 July 2012

We're not having shorts weather here in London, possibly because I invested in a pair a few weeks ago and the gods have decided to reward my cheek by sending constant rain ever since. However, I have decided that I like the look of the shorts/ jacket combination. It is also a practical mix - the temperature may justify shorts but still require a top, such as a linen or light cotton blazer.

These Sartorialist shots shows how it can work. When (and if) shorts weather returns to London (hopefully for the Olympics) I'll try a similar combination myself.

Jackets or blazers with shorts reminds me of my British boarding school days in the tropics.
But for the adult version, I think no country does that combo better than Bermuda. The climate and environment just makes it feel the proper way to dress too.
