What struck me was how classic this collection is. As such, it is wearable by men of any age and yet there is not one grey hair among the models showing it (unless you count co-founder and chair, Jeremy Hackett appearing in the last image below). Think how a few older models would have enhanced the look and widened the appeal of the collection.
Is it me, or is Hackett missing something here?
Like the outfit with the orange trousers - and Erin O'Connor looks fab.
ReplyDeleteI too, really like this collection -the fabric pattern mixes, the cut of the garments and particularly the colour combinations.
ReplyDeleteI'd happily wear many of the outfits as shown, as well as a few other individual pieces, some of which are similar to items I already have, which is perhaps why I like them.
Whether a grey fox/vixen or not, I think a man's or woman's clothes should be a reflection of their character, personality and individual style; I certainly see many of those elements as they pertain to me in the collection, which might further explain why I'm drawn to it.
Thanks for the post GF.
Yes, it is a very good collection and I could see myself wearing a few of these outfits.

I do like a lot of the collection, but I think the models look a little incongruous - not just the lack of grey, but most of them are so buff, they look as though they might burst, Hulk like from their jackets. Perhaps I'm being narrow minded but I just don't associate tweed and corduroy with the kind of man who looks like he'd be happier in speedos. Erin on the other hand, would look amazIng in both.
ReplyDeleteMonique, Thanks for the comment. I think you may have explained why the models are so young, maybe Hackett is trying to create a market for the older tweedy look among younger customers.
