Pheres AW14 - luxury menswear from Italy

Thursday, 16 January 2014

During London Collections:Men I went to see an Italian label previously unknown to me. Pheres makes high quality ready-to-wear and bespoke menswear. The AW14 collection shown here includes well-tailored deconstructed jackets in light fabrics with detailing and applications that are entirely handmade, using a mixture of Italian traditional craftsmanship and British bespoke tailoring.

The quality of the tailoring and cloths is superb. The softness of the fabrics and the nature of the construction made the jackets I tried on feel as though they were bespoke, sitting snugly and comfortably around shoulders and chest. The collections also includes ties and silk and cashmere pocket squares; again, made to the highest standards.

I apologise for the many images of me here, but I enjoyed the feel and comfort of the clothes I tried on and, although not all were my size, they give an idea of the classic yet very Italian shapes and cut.

See Pheres for more information.

    Hi there Grey Fox,

I hope they gave you the black patterned one. It is the perfect artsy kind of blazer that a fashion blogger needs to wear to fit into the designing set that you are now becoming one of.

In an earlier post you were wearing the three piece suit that was made for you. It is really nice, but just too safe and pedestrian the way you wore it. If you paired it with the red shoes from the first picture in the blog post before it, that one quirky element would would have propelled it more fashion forward. Remember odd balled whimsical items and styling is what all the designers do to make their shows interesting.

    Hi Grey Fox,

I like the suit that chap is wearing in the second photo but I think the jackets you are modelling are a bit too short for my liking and don't cover the 'rump' . I'm steering clear of jackets that short because I think they're a fashion item. If I purchase a jacket I want it to last a few years not while it's just fashionable.

    Regards
    David

Pity his shirt is miles too big! What a way to showcase a new brand.

Thank you, Fred for the red show suggestion, but I think I'm searching for style, not high fashion. I simply wouldn't feel comfortable in a tweed suit and red shoes. That's for another more adventurous than I to try.

Thanks David, yes some of the jackets were slightly too small for me, but still felt very comfortable.

In relation to the large shirts, I suppose it's sprezzatura.

    GF
