My efforts on Instagram attracted the attention of The Times last week. 'Meet the Instagrans: silver stars of social media', featured eight older users of Instagram, from Iris Apfel to Linda Rodin. All were women, except for me, which underlines the scarcity of older male bloggers and sadly means I have to put up with the 'Instagran' epithet. However, I was lucky to make the cut as I was the youngest there by a margin. Here is what was said about Grey Fox:

I'm building Grey Fox's presence on Instagram. Its speed and ease of use enables me to post material in a fraction of the time that a blog post takes. The impact is similar, although less long term. Periodic 'outfit of the day' posts, mixed with images of things that catch my eye and of Harry, the #BlogDog, can be found. Please follow me on Instagram by clicking here.

Thanks for publishing the content (about your feed anyway). Not having a subscription to the times, I just switched off, especially after the instagran quip!

Thanks for publishing the content. After the "instagran" content and the subscription required, I admit to switching off. Tony
ReplyDeleteYes, Tony. I ignore it generally, but there is always a hint of patronising comment whenever older people are mentioned - as if it's surprising that anyone over 60 should even know what the internet is - oh well. If it involved anyone of colour, or of a particular religion, the content would be quite different in tone.

Hey Grey
ReplyDeleteYour blog is excellent.
Sorry to put you on the spot. But i am passing thru the UK and need some serviceable suits for work on a modest budgetsay 300 pounds. Would u go M&S or TM Lewin or suit supply or other suggestions. Thx in advance
Hi Anon. Any of your suggestions would be fine. I would try any of those for a reasonably priced suit. Do let me know how you get on.
