Many of you have been following the story of my search for an entirely British-made outfit for my role as father of the bride at my daughter's wedding in July. As any parent who's experienced a child's wedding will know, the event is a mix of joy, pride, nervousness and celebration. The nerves kicked in before I walked my beautiful daughter up the aisle and remained until I'd given my speech later that afternoon. It was a weekend to remember and I'll never forget the happiness on the faces of all present.

Finally - I've been looking forward to seeing both the complete ensemble, and some photos from the event itself! Very impressive on both counts.

ReplyDeleteI have to be honest and say when I first saw the collection of items you proposed to wear at the wedding I thought your deviation from the usual formal grey tie to a brown tie was out of keeping with the formality of the rest of your outfit. However, I have to say I was wrong, as in your pictures it looks perfect - well done.
I particularly admire your choice of POW pattern for your trousers. I am about to commission my next suit in this pattern and am leaning towards the Pederson and Becker 74143 cloth from their Universal Book so may I please ask what cloth and weight did you go for from Cad and Dandy?
Finally may I say how great you both looked in the wedding pictures and every best wish to your daughter and her husband.

Thanks to all of you - very kind. Many thanks Snapper. The tie is actually an olive green - it merged nicely with the foliage in the flowers. I'll get the cloth information on here soon.
