Patrick Malahide and his Prince of Wales check suit

Monday, 10 December 2012

I'll be writing more about Prince of Wales check suits soon, but I had to show this image of Patrick Malahide in Hunted. More grey wolf than grey fox, he wore this suit with such assurance - he could have been wearing a pair of jeans. Not everyone can do that, although it comes with practice.

I'd have fastened the bottom button. Undone, it gives an unbalanced look. But I wouldn't dare tell him.

Doesn't it make you want to go out and be measured up immediately?

Grey Fox - whilst I would never dream of arguing with you (you're way ahead of me on style -- am learning), I would say, and having recently purchased a PoW DB --- leaving the bottom button undone adds a little English "flair" (our version of the Italian spezzatura) Love this post! Jim

Thanks Jim and yes I take your point. I just felt the open button makes him look as of he has a middle-age spread, which I'm sure he doesn't, so a closed button might have reduced this look.

I'm very much still learning so am not an expert by any means. Useful comments like this help my development too!!
