In Camera - London Fashion Week February 2013 Part 1

Friday, 15 February 2013

I hadn't intended going to London Fashion Week to pursue my new street photography career; but it was a beautiful sunny day and I couldn't resist.

I was on the lookout for images of older men of style - grey foxes. Here's a mixture, not all fashion world types. More to come!

    Hi Dave,

    a few cases of 'scarf wearing man' here. A bit sad really. Trying too hard isn't very becoming as you get older.

    Cheers

    Oh come on GF, don't be such a grump! ;) It was a cold day and I was wearing a scarf too; we need our comforts once we get to a certain age. Hope all well with you.
    GF.

    Hi Dave,

    I wear scarfs too in this weather but they are more like those in the last picture than any of the others. Tucked inside the coat rather than on top of it, so a bit sensible and practical rather than fashionable, maybe. But cosy...
    Cheers

    Gruntfuttock,

    I think it is better to be considered one who is "Trying Too Hard" versus being a lazy slob, who just rolls out of bed, puts on anything, and spends the rest of the day being a Sight that CAUSES Sour Eyes.

    I have learned long ago, that the ones who complain MOST really want to do what they are complaining about, but are too afraid. So Gruntfuttock, I give you permission to take risks and dress to the nines, if you wish, like the whimsical guy in photo One. At least he has not given up, or is ready to die, just because he is of a certain age. Maybe when you look like the wonderful/artistic bunch the Grey Fox took pictures of, he will find you and turn You into a Style star also ;-}

    Grunt, chum -- most British males aged from small to grey fox wear scarves. It's quite normal here across all types and classes.

    Makes me smile when I'm working/living in the USA to have my football or 'work' scarf commented on: "Like your ascot, dude", as if it is a cutting-edge innovation.
