Suit inspiration

Sunday, 3 February 2013

I like this suit (Sherry Kash), a subtle mix between the modern and the classic. It's images like this that provide ideas and inspiration in the endless search for style.

I agree with you, it is a suit I would readily wear and with braces. I even like the way he's tied the tie i.e. the rear blade longer than the front.

I too like the suit very much (cut, fabric, that it's beltless, has broad lapels), but the first thing I noticed was the tie: that must be a heck of a long tie to get such length from the blades, especially given the knot he's chosen which uses a lot of length.
Or could it be an illusion given that since he's wearing braces the trousers are hiked up higher making the tie appear longer ?
I wore all kinds of ties daily for 24 years and could never achieve those blade lengths with the broad point sitting just below the waist (which is usually where the trouser top would be), as shown in the first image, however much I tried with any of them.
I've also never worn braces - they're not for my body type.

I'd also not have selected that colour of tie, but I like that they did for it allows better appreciation of the quality of the suit without being distracted by colour pops.
