Where are all the blogs about fashion and the older man?

Sunday, 11 December 2011

Before starting this blog I searched for what I assumed would be scores of blogs with an interest in men's fashion and style in middle age.  Maybe this is a reflection on poor internet search skills, but I found nothing, although I'm sure they are out there somewhere.

Does this mean that we men are all too busy to get involved in blogging, or have no interest in this topic, or that most of us are perfectly happy with our fashion and style lot?

A stunning picture from Advanced Style
One of the best blogs I have found is Advanced Style which is packed full of elegant and beautiful women, many of whom are old enough to be my mother.  There are many similar blogs catering for women (see here for example) but I am still looking for blogs looking at style and fashion in the older man.

If anyone knows of similar blogs discussing style and fashion for the older male of the species please let me know.

You are the only gentleman blogger I know of that's over 30. I am hoping you'll inspire others to post and stay interested in style!

I'm with you. I recently passed my half century milestone and I feel that I need to revise my style to match and I'm having a hard time finding anything that helps point me in the right direction. I'm getting some stuff, but most of the web sites seem to be focused on women's fashion and style. This blog has been fun to read. Keep up the good work.

Thank's for a great blog, with interesting posts and views.

I have a blog (in Swedish) that includes male style and fashion for more grown ups (I'm 60+). I like tweed, classic workwear and clothes with a heritage. I source most of my clothes in thrift stores, eBay and Internet (from Post Overalls, Mister Freedom, Engineereed Garment, Freewheelers, eworkers, Adjustable Costume etc.) The blog also includes other things I like and enjoy, guitars, cars and this and that, about a certain style.
Since some garments are quite expensive, I have also started a blog about my trail and error's in learning to sew my own clothes and vintage sewing machines. In the end I want to be able to sew garments that I can wear and that fit my style in tweed, wool, denim, canvas etc., just natural materials.

    Dear Grey Fox
Interesting blog > Citizen Rosebud said " You are the only blogger i know that is over 30 "
Well Rosebud heres another and I am 74 (a young 74 I have been told)
I am still as interested in fashion as when i was young and fortunately for me I live in Italy where fashion is sacred. The problem i have is trying to look with it but not dressing like a teenager. As you will know 90% of fashion is directed at the young. I mean under 40. I wpould love to find a Guru who can give me honest advise / not some enthusiastic shop assistant who is desperate to earn commission on the most expensive range in the shop regardless if the clothes suit me or not.
I wish ther was a fashion site (or maybe there is) devoted to the older male. Can anyone help
    Good luck with your blog

Thank you Antonio. That's what I try to do on this blog and I hope you will find some ideas for suitable styles here.

    I'm in my late fifties.
