Video: Peregrine Clothing made in England from British wool and fabrics

Friday, 22 May 2015

Knowing my love for British-made menswear (and factory visits), family-owned Peregrine Clothing, founded in 1796, have kindly given Grey Fox Blog readers an exclusive preview of this video showing their clothes being manufactured at their factory in England using British wool and fabrics. For more on their innovative ranges of men's and women's knitwear see Peregrine Clothing.

Peregrine for summer

Tuesday, 4 June 2013

I've covered Peregrine several times on the blog and had imagined that most of their clothes were woolly jumpers for the colder weather.

Nothing could be further from the truth - and here is a selection from their Spring/Summer range for this year to prove it, using cottons and lightweight fabrics for warmer weather.

What I like about Peregrine is, firstly, that these are British-made products from an old family-owned company and secondly, everything is designed with a little flourish. I talk a lot about 'classics with a twist' and Peregrine has it in abundance in fit, shape, details like buttons and pockets, or colours.

For more see the Peregrine website or selected stockists.

Peregrine - yet more British quality

Tuesday, 18 December 2012

Peregrine is the trade name of J.G. Glover and Co. Ltd, a family company with over 200 years experience in producing knitwear in the UK and which is still in the eighth generation of the same family. They make all sorts of exciting British-made products. We see Harris tweed, British Millerain waxed cotton, traditional knits and a range of accessories.

I see that Peregrine have a competition until 24th December on Facebook where followers can win a 100% Merino Wool Mountain Shawl Jumper. See on Facebook and Twitter.

I recently found this mouse-brown Shetland jumper, made by Peregrine, in the Joe Casely-Hayford for John Lewis range. It's been added to my ever-increasing Christmas list.

To prove the age of the business, here are some photographs of the old factory -

You want a payrise?
And the new factory -

And here are some of their clothes that would suit the man of style, looking for classics. I covet the Norwegian sweater and the brown cable-knit polo -
